Notice to Members

Wage Rate Allocation
At our April 3, 2024 membership meeting the membership voted on the distribution of our increase of $4.10 due on May 1, 2024 as follows:

  •     $1.60 in check
  •     $1.50 Savings Plan
  •     $1.00 Pension Plan
The Journeyman total package as of May 1, 2024 will be $105.40 per hour with our Journeyman wage rate being $59.37. Apprentice increases are based on your class period percentage.

Insulator Support Group
We are pleased to announce that there will be an Insulator Support Group for our members who have suffered or are suffering from alcoholism, substance use, or mental health issues. The goal is to have a safe place to discuss addiction, mental health and life issues. This support group is inclusive to all union members, family members and retirees. The meetings will be held every Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM beginning Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Local 14 Pipe Coverers 6th Annual Retirees Reunion
Thursday, April 11, 2024
REMINDER!!! The 6th. annual Pipe Coverers Retirees Reunion will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 11:00 to 3:00 PM. The reunion is open to Active members as well as Retirees. The event will be held at the Philadelphia Ballroom located at 2014 Hornig Road, Philadelphia, PA. Lunch will be served. We will be holding blood serum draws with Fox Chase Cancer Center for Mesothelioma research during this event (Please notify us if you will be getting the blood serum to draw).

There will be a Beef & Beer held immediately following the union meeting on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Look forward to seeing you all there.
 

Insulators Local 14 Golf Classic
Ramblewood Country Club – Saturday, May 4, 2024 Insulators Local 14 Spring Golf Classic will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Ramblewood Country Club. The Ramblewood Country Club is located at 200 Country Club Parkway, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Registration will begin at 6:00 AM and all golfers will tee off at 8:00 AM. The cost of $75.00 per person will include green fees, a golf cart, and a barbecue at the end of the day. Local #14 members will receive a $15.00 discount (cost of $60.00 per person). Please send your check to the Union Office along with the names of the foursome you wish to play with. As always golfers who are retired members are guests and there will be no charge. For more information, please call the Union Office as soon as possible with April 19, 2024, being the official cut-off date.

PSM Refresher Classes:

Apprenticeship Applications

The Training Center is accepting applications for the September 2023 apprenticeship class.
Applications are available online at the Training Center's website: www.insulators14jac.com.
In-person application pickup is available on the first Wednesday of the month from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
 
Applications for the September 2023 class will close at 2:00PM on Friday, May 12, 2023.  

TWIC Card Information

Active TWIC cardholders are eligible for TSA Pre-Check Expedited Screening if they meet the eligibility criteria for the TSA Pre-Check Program. When making an airline reservation, enter the following information in the Known Traveler Number (KTN) field: the Credential Identification Number (CIN) is the eight-digit number printed under the bottom left of the barcode on the back of the TWIC card. For cardholders with the newest version of the TWIC card, the CIN is also embossed on the front of the card.

Reminder
The Job Reporting Procedure is mandatory and is the responsibility of all Foremen to report/inform the union office the exact location of every job site. Reporting this information is very important in helping the agents to monitor your jurisdiction. When you begin a job you will have the option to call the Union office, E-Mail, or complete a Job Report Card.

On-line Forman Job Report

These are your options for job reporting:

1. Union Office at 215-289-4303, Press Ext. 6 and leave the information on the voice mail.

2. E-Mail the Union Office at local14@insulators14.com.

3. Complete Job Report Card.

It is important that this information is accurate! Be sure to include your name and employer, the job location, and the name of the mechanical, plumbing or electrical contractor.
